Denver Metro Young Republicans
Randi Rhodes wasn’t mugged. Michelle Malkin has a roundup of the left’s bigoted overreactions and hate-filled hystrionics about the ‘right wing thugs’ and ‘neocon brownshirts’ that…um…er…weren’t.
One could be forgiven for expecting that, having embarrassed themselves with this sad little episode, those on the left might stop and ponder what it was that led them into such foolishness. It seems a little introspection is in order. Did they too readily accept the story that the incident was a mugging, slavishly absorbing and parroting the words of a radio host? Did they perhaps jump a little too quickly to the conclusion that Republicans were behind this “attack”, displaying naked bigotry and unthinking hatred towards the “other”? Did they pause to investigate the facts of the matter before leaping to all sorts of wild and irrational conclusions about what happened and why, conclusions which don’t even remotely follow from the particulars of the incident which later emerged but which clearly illuminate their own gullibility and a disinterest in the truth over self-important fantasy?
Did they maybe let their paranoia get the better of them?
The answer to all of these questions is, of course, yes. And no, I’m not holding my breath that this minor embarrassment will cause any of the over-the-top opiners of the left to experience an awakening as to the ridiculousness of their toxic partisanship.

More like projection than paranoia. They fantasize about Republicans doing this, when they’re themselves only a prozac away from beating up Ann Coulter or Michelle Malkin. They would if they could, just look at how they “dehumanize” Ann coulter in the quotes in the Malkin post, and the awful, racist things they say about Malkin herself all the time (yeah, we’d hear no end of the leftoids whining and complaining and writing stupid Senate letters if anyone dared say the racist things about lefty talking heads that get said about Michelle Malkin that are just accepted byt the left).
This is just crazy stuff. It makes me worry about next year and the elections. Rhodes and her pals already do everything they can to undermined trust in the voting process by dredging up Florida 2000 and Ohio 2004. If the Democrats lose out next year (thanks to their own screwups and not to the GOP actually earning it, the way it all looks now), they’ll be calling for civil war over the “stolen” elections. And if they win it’s going to be “payback time” given their obsession with revenge and their whacko paranoid fantasies about being cheated and oppressed over the past fifteen or whatever years. 2009 is goign to be a meltdown, just watch.
